Gary has worked in the power generation sector for over 30 years with roles ranging from research and development, academia, operations and maintenance, engineering and asset management, power development and construction. Over the 15 years Dr Bryant has developed and delivered over $1.5B of renewable and clean energy technology projects. In his previous roles Gary had led the development and delivery of wind farms, conceived, and delivered the world’s first grid forming battery capable of operating a high voltage grid in isolation and at its time developed the largest remote solar farm in Australia. Projects have included the development and delivery of a high voltage networks in remote regions of Australia capable of utilising 100% renewables, supplying some of Australia’s largest companies.
Gary is currently the General Manager of Power Development at APA developing over $3B of renewable, storage and thermal power generation projects across the Pilbara. These projects range from on shore wind, large battery systems, solar, gas fired generation and the supporting transmission infrastructure. At APA Gary continues to lead the development of clean energy in the Pilbara focused on facilitating the decarbonising 0f the electricity supply of some of Australia’s largest companies.
