Bruce has been with CPM for 15 years now & as CPM’s General Manager – Sustainability & Environment, Bruce leads the team responsible for ensuring its Pilbara-based operation, Sino Iron, is operating within a very complex regulatory framework including greenhouse gas emissions. Sino Iron consists of a large open pit Magnetite iron ore mine, a large concentrator plant, tailings storage facility, port operations, 480 Megawatt power station and large desalination plant – which means there’s a broad range of decarbonisation issues to deal with.
Bruce has an electrical & environmental science background with more than 25 years working in Australia, the UK, Singapore, the Middle East as a consultant, an environmental regulator and also in heavy industry. Bruce grew up in the Pilbara mining town of Dampier and his first qualification was to complete an electrical apprenticeship. Bruce then went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce as a mature age student and then post graduate studies in Environmental Science.
