Matt has over 35 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across Western Australia’s power industry. A specialist in the economic and technical aspects of power generation, he has extensive knowledge of both conventional power systems and new and emerging renewable energy technologies.
Matt has played a pivotal role in the management of some of Australia’s most sophisticated networks, including Western Power’s South West and North West Interconnected Systems. As Manager Renewable Energy, Matt was also responsible for setting up Western Power’s renewables branch and instituted its first wind and solar monitoring programs.
Matt headed up business development and commercial for Pacific Energy’s Remote Power division, and its subsidiary Contract Power, between 2016 and mid-2024. In this role, Matt and his team secured new business in the increasingly competitive IPP sector, and customised integrated energy solutions for clients driven to decarbonise their operations.
